Q: I've never ice fished before. Is this suitable for beginners?
A: Absolutely! Our professional guides have years of experience teaching beginners. Many first-time ice fishers catch multiple Arctic Char on their first day.

Q: What if I don't catch anything?
A: It's nature, so there are no absolute guarantees. However, we fish in prime locations where success rates are very high. Our guides know the lakes very well and position you in the best spots.
 
Q: How cold is it? What should I bring?
A: Temperatures range from -1°C to -12°C and usually it's sunny. Please plan and dress accordingly.

Q: Is the accommodation comfortable?
A: Yes! Lapla Hotel offers modern comfort. The mountain cabin is traditional with bunk beds, but equipped with electricity, heating & hot water.

Q: What about food?
A: During your stay at Lapla Hotel, you have access to a full kitchen where you can prepare your meals. During the Mountain trip, all meals are included: Breakfast, Cold/Warm lunch on the ice and Dinner at the cabin (home-cooked, hearty meals). Dietary requirements can be accommodated.

Q: How physically demanding is it?
A: Moderate fitness required. On a snowmobile you ride as a passenger. Fishing involves sitting/standing on ice, drilling holes (we help), and walking short distances 50m-200m.

Q: Will we see northern lights?
A: We're in the Aurora Zone, so chances are very good in February-March. However, northern lights are a natural phenomenon and never guaranteed. Clear skies and solar activity required.

Q: Can I keep the fish I catch?
A: Yes, we practice sustainable fishing. You can keep a reasonable amount (typically 2-3 fish per person). We'll vacuum-pack your catch for travel. Most guests cook and eat their first catch during the tour. You can also do catch-and-release.

Q: What's included in the price?
A: Accommodation, meals at the Mountain Cabin (full board) & self-catering at Lapla Hotel, professional guide service, snowmobile transport, heated fishing tents, cabin rental, and transfers from/to Lapla Hotel. Note: Personal clothing and fishing equipment are NOT included.

Q: Do I need to bring my own gear?
A: Yes. While we provide fishing rods and heated tents for your comfort on the ice, you must bring your own warm winter clothing (thermal suits, boots rated for -20°C). You are welcome to bring your own tackle and your lucky jigs. Rental equipment is available upon request for an additional fee.

Q: How do I get to Lapla?
A: There are several options available. If you are traveling by your own car, it depends where you are coming from. We can arrange transfers from airports to Lapla Hotel (additional cost): Lycksele LYC 130km; Umeå UME 250km; Vilhelmina VHM 90km.

Q: What's the group size?
A: Currently maximum 4 guests per tour to ensure personalized experience. The minimum group is 3 guests.

Q: Can I come solo?
A: Yes! Solo travelers are welcome to be a part of the group. Great way to meet like-minded adventurers.

Q: What if the weather is bad?
A: Winter weather is expected and part of the experience. Tours run in all conditions except dangerous storms (extremely rare). Our guides monitor weather constantly for safety.

Q: Can I add additional days to the tour?
A: While our mountain trip has a pre arranged amount of days, you can add more fishing & stay days at our Lapla Hotel.
