The Tyrnos and the Tyrnos II (2 speed) are some of Shimano’s fastest lever drag multipliers, with extra large gears and an extended handle length for increased torque generation. For additional versatility, larger sizes are also available in a 2-Speed (II) option, with prestigious cranking power.<br>The larger 2-Speed Tyrnos (II) models are the perfect reels if you fish deep oceans for extra large fish. In their fastest setting they can rip leads up from the bottom at up to 115cm per handle turn, but with a simple press of a button seamlessly turn into awesome cranking machines, capable of winching the meanest conger or largest shark. However, if you are looking for something lighter to use for jigging, lighter bottom fishing, or specimen freshwater trolling, check out the smaller single speed versions, which are just as fast, hold huge amounts of line (mono or braid), and will give you a lifetime of pleasure and trouble free use.<br>The Tyrnos is tough enough to handle anything that saltwater can throw at it. Built on a strong aluminium frame, with 4 A-RB (anti-rust) bearings, extra large stainless steel gears, an aluminium power handle with oversized rubber handle, and a huge amount of drag power, this is a serious piece of kit. The 2-Speed models have continuously meshing gears for seamless transition and all models have an ultra loud clicker, plus a ratchet lever drag that clicks reassuringly in place when adjusted. An additional adjustment knob allows you to fine tune the pre-set resistance for either strike or full drag, making sure everything is perfectly set when the battle commences.
