IXA recommends a perch fishing setup!

Igor Ixa Nael is one of the best-known anglers in Estonia today and someone who has spent enough time chasing perch to know what really works. That is why Ixa has put together his own perch fishing setup using the gear he personally uses and trusts.

At the heart of the setup is the Westin W4 Streetstick 2nd 7’1 213 cm 2–10 g. It is a light and sensitive rod that gives excellent control over the lure and helps detect even the most cautious bites. Sometimes a perch does not put on a big show. There is just a small tap and you need to feel it immediately.

For the reel, Ixa chose the Westin W2 2000 FD. The 2000 size is a great match for a light perch rod and keeps the whole setup nicely balanced. When you make hundreds of casts during a day, there is really no reason to bring a dumbbell fishing with you.

The setup is completed with Westin W10 13 Braid Cast N Jig 0.08 mm. The thin braid allows long and accurate casts while maintaining excellent contact with the lure, so you can feel both the lure working and the fish taking it.

Together, these three components create a light, sensitive and well-balanced perch setup that Ixa uses himself.
